Complaints & Appeals

If you think anything on After Dark may be illegal, breaks our Terms, or uses someone's likeness without consent, tell us. Anyone can report, with or without an account.

How to make a complaint

• Email afterdarkchatapp@proton.me with what you saw, where it appeared (the companion's name or the page), and when.
• Inside a chat, you can also tap the Report link under any companion reply.

What happens next

• We acknowledge every complaint and review it.
• Every complaint is reviewed and resolved within five business days.
• We tell you the outcome by email.

Possible outcomes

• The content is removed or changed.
• The companion is taken down while we investigate, or permanently.
• An account that broke the rules is limited, suspended or closed.
• No change, if the content follows our Terms; we explain why.
• Where the law requires it, we report the matter to the authorities.

Appeals

• You can appeal any decision by replying to our decision email or writing to afterdarkchatapp@proton.me with "Appeal" in the subject.
• Appeals are reviewed by someone other than the person who made the first decision, within five business days.
• Every companion is a fictional character created by AI. If you believe a companion looks or sounds like you, or like someone you represent, you can ask us to remove it. If we find that consent was not given or is not valid under the law, we remove the content.
• If we disagree with you about consent, the disagreement will be resolved by a neutral third party, such as an independent arbitrator, at our expense.
